Cancer-Focused Therapy

aka, Psycho-Oncology

Cancer can affect every part of life: emotionally, physically, relationally, and spiritually. Cancer-focused psychotherapy, also known as psycho-oncology, offers a compassionate space to process the emotional and psychological impact of diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and uncertainty.

What is Psycho-Oncology

Cancer brings fear, stress, uncertainty, grief, and so many emotions that can feel impossible to hold alone. In our sessions, we can make space for the emotional impact of diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and the unknowns that come with cancer care.

Emotional Support Through Cancer

Guidance for the Real-Life Questions Cancer Brings

Cancer does not only bring emotional questions. It can also bring real-life, overwhelming logistical questions that your medical team may not always have the time or capacity to walk through with you. Concerns around insurance, grants, wills, bills, care planning, and practical next steps can add another layer of stress during an already difficult time.

With my experience supporting individuals and families through cancer, I offer support that helps you process what you are feeling while also making a safe space for the real-life concerns that come with treatment and healing.

Together we will focus on:

  • Understanding the emotional and psychological impact of your cancer experience

  • Managing stress, anxiety, fear, and uncertainty

  • Building emotional resilience through treatment or recovery

  • Strengthening self-compassion during a difficult season

  • Creating sustainable coping tools that support long-term well-being and quality of life

In our sessions, you will have space to feel supported, understood, and less alone as you navigate the many layers of cancer care.

With specialized experience in oncology social work, I offer support that addresses not just the emotional, but also the relational, spiritual, and existential aspects of your journey.
